The academic expert program equips you with knowledge and skills to meet these challenges well and to provide the best possible support for adolescents. This ensures quality in the care of children and adolescents in in-patient facilities. Applicants may require legalization of documents from countries other than Austria in order for them to have the evidential value of domestic public documents. Information on the required legalizations can be found here in PDF format.
For documents that are neither in German nor English, a translation by a sworn and court-certified interpreter is required. Your original documents should have all the necessary legalization stamps before translation so that the stamps are also translated. The translation must be firmly attached to the original document or a legalized copy.
As part of your online application, upload scans of your original documents including all required legalization stamps. Children and families are increasingly affected by multiple needs and problems such as poverty, health risks and related exclusion. Against this background, there is a great demand for experts who are able to analyze the complex interplay of individual, family and social risk factors and to plan interventions that are tailored to needs and requirements.
The curriculum developed in cooperation with the MAG ELF reflects the different needs of actual practice. You benefit from numerous teachers with practical experience and academic qualifications and develop a scientifically reflective approach. Equal opportunities, participation and life perspectives of children no longer depend on intuitive care, but follow your newly acquired knowledge and thus scientific concepts.
The academic expert program is unique throughout Europe due to its teaching content. It combines e-learning and distance learning with face-to-face units and internship guidance. This enables a demand-oriented curriculum and evidence-based access to research and development.
Due to the part-time nature of the academic expert program, it is organized in blocks of weekends from Thursday to Saturday, approximately once a month. 70% of the teaching takes place in onsite lectures, the rest in the form of distance learning and e-learning.
Students are provided with relevant teaching materials (specialist literature, electronic documents and readers) or distance learning exercises before or during the attendance phases. In addition, practical training at the student's own institution is planned in connection with supervised practical guidance and reflection. In the time between onsite and distance phases, concrete work assignments and exercises are carried out.

The academic expert program is conducted in cooperation with the Fédération Internationale des Communautés Educatives Austria (FICE).
We are closely connected with practice centers and research institutions in the field of social work and social pedagogy throughout Austria and recruit experts for our teaching from this network. At the interface of research, practice and teaching, FH Campus Wien has its own Research Center for Social Work, which brings together knowledge and innovation potentials. For example, in a major study commissioned by the MAG ELF, the research center examined the " Lifeworld of foster children in post-war Vienna from 1955 to 1970" in order to historically reappraise the placement of children and adolescents in foster families. Practical relevance is not only a feature of teaching and research, but also of the Campus Lectures, a series of events with top-class external experts, to which FH Campus Wien regularly invites.
Many of our cooperations are shown on our website Campusnetzwerk. It is always worth taking a look and you might find a new job or an interesting event with one of our cooperation partners!
