Lecture contents

Facilities for handling open radioactive materials; radiation exposure of physicians and other persons, in particular patients, during the various examination or treatment procedures; determination of radiation exposure; protective measures when working with open radioactive materials; contamination and decontamination measures; collection, temporary storage and disposal of radioactive waste; radiation accidents caused by external contamination or incorporation; first aid; whole-body measurements and excretion analyses; protection of patients; quality assurance measures; exercises in small groups of at least 4 hours: Protective measures when handling open radioactive materials, detection of contamination, decontamination, quality control, calculation of attenuation coefficients of different shielding materials, determination of the energy spectrum of unknown radionuclides, checking of radiation measuring devices for functionality and suitable areas of application
