BSc.1SWS2ECTSLecture contentsMedical terminology. Knowledge of important vocabulary and word components of medical terminology, explanations and definitions. Compilation of a glossary. Brief and succinct overview of the cell, overview of metabolic functions. Characteristics of cells, structure and function of cells organelles. Introduction to molecular biology of nucleic acid. Application principles of immunological, molecular and cell-biological methods for answering complex biomedical questions. The lecture is a bridge to previous knowledge of previous trainings.Assessment methodsfinal written examinationTeaching methodsWell structured media supported lecture, worksheets, reading and discussing specialist literature, activating group workLanguageGerman> Case Studies 2 SE Biomedical Science moreCase Studies 2 SELector: Susanne Bauer-Mitlinger, Bernhard Dürschmied, MSc, Sabine Enzinger, MBA, Katharina Fehrer, MSc., Elis Godaj, MSc, Silke Jäger, MSc, Margarete Tschandl, Bakk. phil. Cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system, in particular carbohydrate and lipo-metabolism. Physiological and pathophysiological connections of the genesis of urine and other body fluids as well as the laboratory analytics of those (e.g.: blood, urine, liquor, sperms, perspiration, synovial fluids, puncture fluids, stool). Selected cases of the cardiovascular system (arteriosclerosis, thromboembolic diseases and haemorrhagic diatheses, respiration, etc) and of the neurovegetative regulations (gastrointestinal tract, etc.), inflammation, types of inflammation, viral and bacterial inflammation, examples of the science of tumors. Explain and present special body systems with its pathologies based on examples, interconnect with the corresponding laboratory parameters.Assessment methodsPresentation of the results in working Group - continuous assessmentTeaching methodsProblem based learning> Laboratory Diagnostics of Molecular Biology 1 ILV Biomedical Science moreLaboratory Diagnostics of Molecular Biology 1 ILVLector: Sabine Enzinger, MBA, Helena Seper, MSc, Mag.a Dr.in Veronika Stefanik2.5SWS2ECTSLecture contentsIsolation and concentration measurement of DNA Execution of relevant molecularbiological analytical methods Troubleshooting Basics of Quality Assurance Documentation, Validation and Interpretation of resultsAssessment methodsPermanent assessment practical performance final moodle-exam lab protocol molecularbiological reportTeaching methodsstructured an media supported lectures work in groups oral repetitions reports self study demonstrations practical training lab protocol> Cell Culture ILV Biomedical Science moreCell Culture ILVLector: Sabine Enzinger, MBA, Helena Seper, MSc, Mag.a Dr.in Veronika Stefanik2.5SWS2.5ECTSLecture contentsCellculture: spatial and apparatus-supported Equipment of a cellculture laboratory, cultureflasks and media, sterile Technology and contaminations, Routine methods, Change of medium, sub-cultivation, Counting of Cells, Cryopreservation, Production of Cell-Lysates and Cellpellets, standardization, documentation and Quality assurance Molecularbiology; Isolation and concentration measurement of nucleic acids Execution of relevant molecularbiological analytical methods Troubleshooting Basics of qualtiy assurance Documentation, Validation and Interpretation of resultsAssessment methodsCellculture: permanent assessment of Performance written final exam Molecularbiology: Permanent assessment (practical Training, work in Groups) final exam lab protocolTeaching methodsCellculture: practical exercises, Demonstration Molecularbiology: structured and media supported lectures work in Groups self study practical Training Lab protocolLanguageGerman> Latest Developments ILV Biomedical Science moreLatest Developments ILVLector: Sabine Enzinger, MBA1.5SWS1.5ECTSLecture contents-Assessment methodsPresentation of the certificates of attendanceTeaching methods-LanguageGermanPublications The publications of Sabine Enzinger written at FH Campus Wien can be found in our publication database, others in the personal web space.
