Lecture contents

•ENT-Assessment and relevant information for audiometrical testing
•Indication and purpose of subjective and objective audiometrical testing procedures
•Set-up and function of audiometrical testing systems (eg OtoAccess, Equinox-Suite, Pure-tone audiometer, Tympanometer, …)
•Preparing the examination setting for audiometrical testing: Hardware & Software
•Instructing patients to prepare them for audiometrical testing (purpose, process, patients’ contribution, …)
•Performing subjective and objective audiometrical testing (Pure-tone audiometry, Tympanometrie, Speech audiometry, …)
•Hygienic procedures in the work process
•Procedures in case of technical difficulties; acknowledging the limits of personal technical skills
•Evaluating test results considering the patient’s medical history, the preceding ENT-assessment and other medical reports and test results
•Symbols in audiometrical testing and the documentation of test results
•Interpretation of test results considering the patient’s medical history, the preceding ENT-assessment and other medical reports and test results (audiological characteristics of hearing loss, possible diagnosis, recognition of aggravation and simulation)

Lecture contents

The e-learning-lecture offers scientific-methodological support and coaching for the bachelor thesis 2. Along the research questions issues of the writing process will be clarified and possibilities (as well as limits) of the selected empirical method, assessment, data collection, data analysis and interpretation will be discussed. Students participate actively in asking thesis-relevant questions and obtain tips and advice for research and writing.
