Breastfeeding and Breastfeeding Consultation ILV

The teaching content includes physical aspects such as the anatomy of the female breast, the physiology of lactation, hormonal influences and the child's and mother's breastfeeding reflexes on the one hand and dealing with the ingredients of breast milk and formula food on the other.
Further focal points are breastfeeding management, the child's waking and sleeping behavior, breastfeeding and satiety signs, the child's sucking mechanism, breastfeeding positions and attachment techniques with the aim of supporting the establishment of exclusive breastfeeding.
The knowledge acquired is deepened in exercises in the skills lab.

The practice accompanying seminar 2 serves to ensure the theory-practice transfer through pedagogical support of the students during the practical learning phases. In the plenary session, in small groups and in distance learning systematically supervised by teachers, the practical learning phases are prepared and followed up, learning goals are defined, practical experiences are reflected and concrete case studies and support processes are analyzed systematically and theory-based.
