Research Field Research on Childhood, Youth and Families

Current research questions and practice-relevant topics of social work are developed using quantitative, qualitative and triangulatory social science methods.

Research on child, adolescent and family-related issues takes place in the context of third-party funded as well as cost-neutral research projects of teachers and students and is conveyed through publication and lecturing activities as well as research-led teaching. The research team is concerned with the conditions, challenges and processes of socialization, education and learning processes with the characteristics and effects of family environments as well as institutional education, parenting and care contexts, with social work and pedagogical interventions as well as their diverse interrelationships.
