Research Field Evaluation Research in Health Care and Nursing

Evaluation research involves the systematic application of empirical research methods to assess the effectiveness of processes and interventions in areas of education and training and in practical fields of nursing and health care. For example, in education and training in nursing science questions about the effectiveness of teaching methods and their effects on the acquisition of skills among learners and students are examined. In the field of health and nursing, for example, nursing interventions and their application successes are evaluated.

  • Optimization function: The evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of nursing measures in the field of practice in order to introduce optimizations.
  • Control function: The evaluation of the effectiveness of implemented care measures.
  • Decision-making function: The examination of the question of whether a particular training or educational branch or a specific occupational field should be developed.
