Project Duration: 1^st April 2021 until 31^th March 2024

The content of the project is the development of quality-assured recyclates from post-consumer packaging which can be re-used for packaging applications (closed value circle). Polypropylene and high-density polyethylene hollow bodies as well as polypropylene and polystyrene cups in the Austrian value chain are the main focus of the project.
With the amendment to the Waste Framework Directive and the Packaging Directive contained in the Circular Economy Package of the European Union, a turning point is imminent for the plastics industry in the EU: By 2030, 55 % of all plastic packaging in the EU member states is to be recycled.
