Academic Institutional Development

Academic Institutional Development stands for state-of-the-art curricula and a feasible system of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

  • Academic Institutional Development promotes optimal coordination with the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria) and international agencies in external quality assurance. It assumes responsibility for procedures to establish study programs.
  • In the context of enhancing ongoing study programs, Academic Institutional Development launches and implements various activities to ensure their future orientation.
    • Consulting heads of study programs, master’s courses and academic courses and facilitating procedures, among others by means of analyses and round tables
    • Presenting the portfolio of study programs to the University Council and the University Management
    • Strengthening of future competencies in curricula, such as innovation and entrepreneurial spirit (cf. the European activities HEInnovate and BeyondScale)
  • Academic Institutional Development intensely addresses subjects related to education and higher-education policy:
    • European Higher Education Area (Bologna coordinator: Mag.a (FH) Susanna Boldrino)
    • Identifying megatrends and trends
    • Market analyses of future professional domains and topic areas (analysis of needs, acceptance and coherence)
    • Environement analyses of the University of Applied Sciences and its Departments
    • Various reports (e.g. AQ Austria Annual Report, reports to the University Council)
