FH Campus Wien and Philips promote apprentices - quality is the main criterion
With the project “Dual Apprenticeship with University of Applied Sciences Module” the FH Campus Wien offers an assisted entrance into an FH-degree programme. This offer is made possible by a cooperation with Philips Austria and the City of Vienna. The first graduates of “Dual Apprenticeship” were recently celebrated.
The offer addresses itself above all, but not exclusively to apprentices without the Matura (A-level equivalent). The admission criteria to the degree programme often constitute a difficult hurdle for these candidates. Andreas Lang is one of the people who took advantage of this opportunity with great commitment. He plans to begin the Bachelor degree programme “High Tech Manufacturing” at the FH Campus Wien in autumn 2008. "I dropped-out of mechanical engineering at Technical College and afterwards did an apprenticeship as machine production technician at Philips. Now ambition has grabbed me. Parallel to my work at Philips I want to study. The “Dual apprenticeship” helped me to do it."

How? What? How long?
As part of the project lecturers at the FH Campus Wien prepare candidates for the necessary auxiliary examinations and conduct the examinations. The programme, which is done parallel to working, lasts two to three semesters and is free of charge.
Admission via the “Dual Apprenticeship with University of Applied Sciences Module” is, at present, possible in the following FH-degree programmes:
Information Technologies and Telecommunication
Integrated Safety and Security Management
