Accommodation

Rental Flats

For organizational reasons, the International Office of the FH Campus Wien can NOT assist you in finding rental accommodation.

Students, who are only interested in staying in a rental flat, should note that, as well as the monthly rent, deposit and administration fee also running costs –electricity, gas, water, heating etc. must be paid.

You can find housing offers in the Austrian daily newspapers and on various websites:

Flat-sharing and furnished apartments

Flat-sharing is a good alternative to dormitories, but if students decide for this option, they have to organise it on their own. Furnished apartments are rather difficult to find and usually also more expensive than staying in a dormitory. Apart from monthly rent, students have to pay utilities, energy, and heating, and very often also a one-time payment for fixtures and fittings as well as a deposit. The ÖH housing market place is a good possibility to find flat-sharing and furnished apartments.

Youth hostels

For short-term stays, youth hostels are a good option. Especially for stays during the holiday season, you will have to book in advance.

Residence Registration

Students - both fulltime and visiting - are obliged to register their residence within three (working) days after their arrival in Austria (Vienna) and/or after changing accommodation at one of the Municipal District Offices.

You must take the following documents with you:
  • Passport or identity card
  • completed registration form, signed by your landlord/landlady (halls of residence caretaker)
