Overview of your studies

The complexity of the medical and structural challenges of social work is growing and demands innovative solutions. The Master degree course will deliver you social scientific research skills and - uniquely in Austria - the optional specialisation areas “social space and social politics” and “clinical social work”.

You will learn either the context-analytic perspectives, from which you can grasp the social problem issues in their political, legal and sociostructural relationships and initiate changes by the systematic development of new impulse-giving measures and proposals for the social network.

Or you will be concerned with the social conditions of illnesses and/or their prevention, whereby you will also deal with non-compliance and/or with hard to reach clients. With this specialisation you will additionally profit from synergies with our Health degree programmes.

Apart from practical experience this Master degree course also requires interest in theoretical reflection and the scientific advancement of social actions.
