Your Future Occupational Fields

As a graduate of the program you will provide public services in middle management in the federal, provincial or municipal government, or in state owned entities. You will assume management or divisional responsibility in small to medium-sized organizational units, fulfill staff functions, or perform tasks in project and process management, or in the administration. You will be prepared to deal with a variety of topics in the following areas:

Government and administration in an international context:

 

  • Participation in the implementation of public tasks in the field of regional authorities
  • Involvement of citizens in the implementation of public interest projects
  • Representation of interests in European and international work groups
  • Development and assistance in lobbying activities
  • Development and maintenance of relationships in the European and international context
  • Assistance in European and international project activities and organization of European and international know-how transfer

Economy and Budget

  • Assistance in the budgeting
  • Control of professional and financial management processes using key performance indicators
  • Determination and measurement of outputs and outcomes

Administrative Management

  • Assistance in the designing and implementation of modernization projects
  • Assistance in human resource management
  • Implementation of the operational quality management

Career Opportunities

The demand for skilled and demand-oriented qualified employees is certain to increase in the coming years in the public sector, which includes in particular the local authorities, but also social insurances, legal representatives of interest groups and divested companies. If you are active in middle management in the public sector, this bachelor's degree program will open the door for a wide range of career development and advancement opportunities. For the first time, this degree program provides an education specifically tailored for the public sector that, in keeping with the Bologna process, is comparable with other academic programs.
