In autumn 2008 the Further Education Master Course “Physiotherapy” began with the focus “Evidence-Based Physiotherapy”.
The requirement within physiotherapy to make decisions on the basis of proven effectiveness is growing. The aim is to research physiotherapeutic methods and to justify their application to interdisciplinary teams as well as the policy makers. The growing requirements of society, the simultaneous decreasing of resources and the Europe-wide transfer of the healthcare professions into academic professions set the course for this innovative route.
Building on the “Evidence-Based Physiotherapy” you will choose between the key future fields “Motor Learning in the Various Stages of Life” or “Physiotherapeutic Pain Treatment Strategies”. You will acquire skills in the areas of research and development, which will enable you to work within scientific teams. The areas project and quality management and personnel management will additionally widen your professional horizons. The course requires your interest in research, in the development of your own profession, in the implementation of international standards and networking.
