Overview of your studies
“Action and health: Being active has healing effects!” According to this principle, areas of everyday life such as occupation, school and leisure as well as the human environment, are thrust into the centre of therapeutic activities of Occupational Therapy.
Occupational therapists treat people of all age groups and support the maintenance, improvement or restoration of the individual‘s capacity to be active in all areas of life. They learn to analyse the activities of the clients, match the execution of the action with the existing functions and train those abilities, which are necessary for the satisfactory execution of actions.
Thereby, they also use tools and aids and where necessary, adjust the clients’ surroundings to fit their needs.
The degree course combines therapeutic, socio-scientific and medical subjects and is characterised by a strong emphasis on practical work and the possibility to specialise. You will use your acquired theoretical knowledge during internships and while working on research and development projects.
