Objective of the course

The student will be equipped to advice women about nutrition in pregnancy and during lactation period. THis includes the teaching of basic knowlegde on nutrition and the competence to support ailments concerning nutrition.

Course contents

Anorganic and organic food components, individual requirement of nutrients, body-mass-index, quantitative and qualitative aspects of nutrition, nutrition in pregnancy, after birth andlactation period.
Introduction to dietetics, Ailments of pregnancy and nutrition, high-risk pregnancy and nutrition (e.g. diabetes)
