Objective of the course
The students know how midwives work in Austria and have done a teamwork on tis topic.
They know all impotrant facts abuot the Austrian Midwives Organisation and the Austrian Midwives - Journal.
The students are aware of the international aspects of midwifery and know the "International Code of Ethics for Midwives", passed by the "International Confederation of Midwives".
The students dealt with the Austrian Midwifery Law and the resulting chances and limits for professional midwives.
The students are aware of trappings of power in midwifery practice.

Prerequisites
no special knowledge required
Course contents
The students get information about midwifery national and international, the code of ethics for midwifes and the Austrian midwife law. The students should also get in contact with midwives, make interviews about their work, present their findings in plenum
