Overview of your studies
Your core tasks as a speech and language therapist consist of initiating, maintaining, improving or restoring the human communication abilities of your clients and also to advise their families.
You will work with people of all age groups, with post-operational patients and those recovering from neurological illnesses as well as those who are professional speakers. The degree course will comprehensively prepare you for the application of these specialist activities in health, social and teaching services, in research and in industry.
The main focus of your studies will be the scientific disciplines of logopedics, phoniatrics and audiology as well as medical basics and specialised medical and reference-scientific subjects for example linguistics, psychology, special and therapeutic education. You will use the knowledge that you acquire during your studies in various placements and during work in R&D projects. These tasks require in particular your language skills as well as empathy and educational skills.
