Overview of your studies
Within the health branch Vienna has developed into an internationally recognised biotechnology location over the last ten years. The degree programme “Molecular Biotechnology” has settled at the Campus Vienna BioCenter beside other important research establishments and Biotech enterprises.
Besides the location and close cooperation with the University of Vienna, the strong applied research orientation distinguishes our degree programme. Following on from the findings of basic research the degree programme teaches how the invention of new technologies and their development operates, right up to production.
Your education will prepare you for work in the research and development departments of Biotech enterprises, in the pharmaceutical industry, in hospitals and authorities. You will apply the theoretical knowledge that you acquire during laboratory practicals, an (industrial) placement semester and your work on R&D projects. These tasks require an interest in natural sciences, technology and analytical intellectual capacity.
