Intensive fundamental studies and specialisation

You will enjoy an intensive process-orientated education. You will learn to develop new recombinant agents and vaccines as well as stem-cell and gene therapies. Your strongly application-oriented education will be rounded-off by the fundamentals of economics and law, laboratory courses and seminars.
  • You will deal with general, analytical and organic chemistry, human biology, cell and molecular biology as well as functional genomics. Mathematics and bioinformatics complement your methodical skills.
  • You will acquire management skills in the fields of quality management, good laboratory practise (GLP) and clinical testing.
  • You will acquire the fundamentals of marketing and communication.
  • You will complete extensive laboratory courses in small groups.

Studying in Vienna – in the centre of Europe

Vienna is an internationally recognised academic location, where contacts are made and networks are developed. The location at the Vienna BioCenter, where national and international research institutions and Biotech enterprises are based, strengthens our networking - nationally and internationally.

Internationalisation is a living process, to which the staff at the University of Applied Sciences, FH Campus Wien are dedicated. A first-class choice of placements and study stays abroad or collaboration in international projects is central to a modern education. We invite you to make use of these possibilities.

Practical emphasis

The strong practical relevance characterises the whole of your education and guarantees you a smooth entrance into the working world. In the sixth semester you will complete an (industrial) placement, in which you will gain comprehensive practical experience through the application of your theoretical knowledge. If you are already employed in a relevant field, it is possible to receive credits for your experience. Often, a concrete job offer results from this placement. Through your work in research and development projects (R&D) you will become acquainted with the active exchange between research and practise at the FH at the closest quarters.
