In recent years, the shift of paradigms in network technology also requires a re-evaluation of the security strategy; the move from stationary PCs to wireless, mobile devices, constrained in CPU, RAM and available energy, justifies the need for new security technologies.

Our research focus are efficient, new possibilities to securely link mobile devices, like PDAs, mobile phones, but also small sensor motes, like those typically deployed in sensor networks. To reach this goal we investigate the possibilities of elliptic curves and identity-based cryptography, to allow asymmetric cryptography on severely limited devices. In addition, we try to make these implementations resistant against side-channel-attacks.
