The Competence Centre for IT-Security is organisationally embedded into the “Information Technologies and Telecommunication” degree programme, but offers its services for all other technical degree programmes at the FH Campus Wien. The main focus of teaching, research and development is tap- and manipulation-proof data transmission.

The main research areas of the competence centre are, among others, relevant to the following fields of applications:

• Risk- and weak-point analysis of IT-systems
• Forensic computing
• Manipulation-resistant IT-systems
• Tap-proof data transmission
• Encryption and Authentication
• Key Management
• Copy-protection techniques

Cooperation with businesses allows them to profit from Know-How and innovative developments on an academic basis. Teaching on the other hand benefits from these collaborations trough reference to current topics.

The competence centre for IT-security is being supported by the MA27 – EU-Strategie und Wirtschaftsentwicklung – in the course of the funding programme “Stiftungsprofessuren und Kompetenzteams für die Wiener Fachhochschul-Ausbildungen”.
